What is Kidney Stone?

A kidney stone is a solid mass made up of tiny crystals. Pain in your back or side, blood in your urine and nausea or vomiting alongside the pain are symptoms of a kidney stone or stones.
The most common type of kidney stone is calcium-based stone. Having a raised serum calcium level or hypercalcemia and a low urine output are key risk factors for calcium collecting into a stone. The other types of kidney stones include uric acid stone, struvite stones and cystine stones.
