On May 11, 2019, Xiamen International Symposium on Digestive Endoscopy and the Fifth Summit for Cross-Strait Endoscopic Diagnosis and Therapy for Early Gastrointestinal Carcinoma were held in the beautiful city of Xiamen. In the operation rebroadcasting during this meeting, the rebroadcasting of 3D digestive endoscopic surgery successfully finished as the first rebroadcasting of 3D digestive endoscopy in China.

Operating method: ESD operation on esophagus

During the operation rebroadcasting, Professor Chen smoothly finished 3D esophagus ESD operation with 3D imaging system developed by Scivita Medical, and all participating experts experienced more natural 3D visual effect similar to that by the human eyes for the first time.

Professor Chen Jinzhong introduced the experience of 3D imaging system in the operation. He said that 3D imaging technology had very great advantages in ESD operation, particularly in operation on esophagus, where its three-dimension effect and deep effect could provide better operating performance in the esophageal mucosal dissection, thus reducing maloperations and reducing bleeding. 

In addition, in combination with 3D imaging system, it is possible to more clearly display the distribution of unclear mucosal fine capillaries, thus helping digestive endoscopy doctors make quicker and clearer judgment of the nature of lesion.
