[Scivita Medical] 3D shines in Beijing

On June 14-16, 2019, Beijing International Digestive Disease Forum attracting tremendous attention was held in Jiuhua International Convention Center in Beijing. In this forum, the development trend of digestive endoscopy in China- “requirements for digestive endoscopy in 3D era” was deeply explored, to push the progress of digestive endoscopy in China.

In this forum, Beijing Friendship Hospital Affiliated to the Capital University of Medical Sciences worked with Scivita Medical to develop and promote 3D imaging system of digestive endoscopy, which can convert all 2D images of digestive endoscopy into 3D images, winning high recognition and attention of the attending guests.

At the meeting

During the meeting, Director Zhang Pengtian explained the application of 3D technology in digestive endoscopy with regard to the topic of digestive endoscopy for 40 years. Now there are two means of producing 3D image in the endoscopy field. Since traditional twin-lens mode needs two sets of imaging circuits, they will occupy too much space in endoscope, it is impossible to realize 3D imaging in digestive endoscopy. While with one-lens 3D imaging technology of Scivita Medical, 3D images are generated from the natural image displacement during the use of endoscope, thus perfectly eliminating the defects of twin-lens 3D imaging.

During this meeting, many experts talked about the advantages of 3D technology in digestive endoscopy: the 3D effect for real-time transformation of 3D imaging system can fully highlight the concave-convex features on the surface of mucosa, improve the detection rate of polyp lesions, and reduce the missed diagnosis rate. It enables the doctors to more clearly see the distribution of capillary tubes invisible in common time, and helps the doctors reduce the probability of bleeding and accurately and quickly judge the inflammation and lesions during the operation.

During the meeting, Professor Zhu Shengtao from Digestive Endoscopy Center of Beijing Friendship Hospital specifically introduced the principle and effect of real-time transformation of 2D to 3D in 3D imaging system, and described the advantages of 3D technology in early cancer screening.
